I have personally seen this parenting style being implemented and I can honestly say that it works. I have witnessed a 2-year-old boy, throwing a tantrum as he could not get his way to watch TV. Very soon, this little boy was able to articulate that he was frustrated and sad that he could not watch TV and that he understood that it was not the weekend, which was TV time. He also showed that at the tender age of 2, he felt for other who were in pain, when a little girl visiting, hurt her knee. He went straight up to her and asked, “are you ok?” “I will get ice”, as his mom always fetches an ice pack when he hurts himself.
